Insert bearings are based on sealed deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63 series, but have a convex outer ring and in most cases an extended inner ring with a specific locking device, enabling quick and easy mounting onto the shaft.
The different locking methods enable quick and easy mounting. The spherically shaped outside surface enables initial misalignment by tilting in the housing.
Because of their versatility and costeffectiveness, insert bearings are typically used in the following applications:
• Agricultural machinery
• Food and beverage processing and packaging
• Conveyor systems
• Material handling systems
• Textile equipment
• Industrial fans
• Special machinery, e g car wash systems, gym equipment, go-karts
As to locking methods and the bore shape, it can be classified:
-UC series: suitable for both constant and alternating directions of rotation, have a cylinderical bore, locked on to the shaft by tightening two grub (set) screws positioned 120° apart in the inner ring.
-UB serises, cylinderical bore, flat head at one end, locking with set screws
-UEL series: suitable for constant directions of rotation, have a cylinderical bore, have an eccentric step on one side of the extended inner ring, locked onto the shaft by an eccentric locking collar and a single grub screw.
-UE serises, like UEL series locking with eccentric locking collar, but only can take lighter loads
- UK series: suitable for both constant and alternating directions of rotation, have a tapered bore, locked onto the shaft by an adapter sleeve and locking washer
Bearing can be supplied with materials of bearing steel and stainless steel.
The bearing housing are available as grey cast iron, pressed steel sheet, stainless steel and thermoplastic.
